Frequently asked questions
What can I expect in my first therapy session?
In our first 60-minute session, we'll explore what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain from it. We'll discuss how often we'll meet. I usually see clients biweekly, as this provides a good balance between relational consistency and time to assimilate and integrate the work. I also see some clients monthly; this depends on your needs. We can arrange a time to review progress, typically after eight sessions.
What forms of payment do you accept?
My fees for both in-person and online counselling are CAD 133
For payment, I accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express, with an additional credit card fee, or e-transfer to marina@intobeing.ca at no extra charge.
I offer direct billing to many insurers. You can check if you do qualify by clicking here: Services.(https://www.intobeing.ca/individual-counselling) Otherwise, you can present a receipt of your payment to your extended health benefits provider for reimbursement.
Please be aware that a 48-hour notice is required for cancellations and rescheduling. The full fee is charged for missed sessions or late cancellations.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
Yes, I provide a sliding scale fee ranging from $95 to $125, depending on household income.
Which Extended Health Benefits providers will reimburse your services?
After each payment, a receipt will be issued for you to submit to your extended health benefits provider for reimbursement. You can inquire beforehand whether they'll cover services from a counselling therapist registered with ACCT reg. #3040 and CPCA reg. #4261.
